SUPER 8

Use a SUPER 8 in standard mode for lengthy or multiple rappels for better heat dissipation and smooth descents. One advantage of of the SUPER 8 is it's ability to pass knots in fixed ropes - without having to rest your weight on an ascender, remove the rope, re-rig and then re-clip (as is necessary with tubular belay devices). This keeps you constantly connected to the rope via your descent device - a real safety benefit for both big wall and expedition climbers. To belay - pass a bight of the rope through the small end and clip it to the belay loop on your harness with a locking biner. A 'draw may be used to tether the big end of the SUPER 8 to your leg loop so it can't get away from you while arresting a fall. Great looking soft anodised color finish.
