The CANYONEER 2 is built on an entirely new platform - for stability on the trail and super sticktion on wet rock and slippery pot holes. Uppers are durable and abrasion resistant nylon mesh and micro perforated synthetic leather - which has a silver reflective finish. Closure is via simple foam padded wrap which forms a mini gasket-gaiter for a good seal. lt also protects your ankle bones from unexpected and painful knocks and abrasions from hidden rocks and crevices. Likewise 5.10's new heel cage provides additional protection and helps stabilizes your foot for more efficient scrambling. Security and control is further enhanced by two buckle closure urethane straps - which can't slip and leave your shoe in a hole... and you barefoot.
The topography of the CANYONEERS sole is absolutely futuristic - with co-molded arch support (and Stealth Cat reaching out), longitudinal and transverse flex grooves and staggered and angled S1 Stealth trail traction tread. Firm and sticky C4 Stealth Rubber (same as used on high performance rock shoes) extends from toe to arch and delivers plenty of climbing power to tame sketchy approach moves and reverse out of cul de sacs.
