The leading edge has an inmolded steel blade to slice thru snow and debris more effectively and get the job done faster. The SHOVEL can be easily stashed inside your pack or lashed to the back. Side handles provide efficient digging from kneeled position (like a back hoe), can be used by itself in tight quarters (inside snow cave), with your alpine axe or the HANDLE below - for best results. HANDLE can be installed for "right" or "left" hand use.
