The STOP is a descender that allows controlled single line descents and instant, easy lockoffs. Your "braking hand" on the slack rope end controls the rate of descent while your "safety hand" works the STOP lever. "Hands off" = "automatic stop". Change modes to ascend back up the rope with the addition of a handled ascender and footloop.Rope may be added or removed from STOP without unclipping from your harness.
