C4 CAMALOTS
The redesigned CAMALOTS are 10%
lighter and just as durable as their predecessors.
Several evolutionary improvements are noted:
Each CAMALOT's cam lobes are machined to minimize
weight and maximize strength; special patterning
on the face of each lobe improves friction and
therefore hastens initiation of the camming
moment; lightweight aluminum "head"
supports stainless steel fitting to which "U"
cable frame is welded; sleek and durable plastic
"frame" is stiff enough for easy triggering
yet flexible for horizontal or bendy curved
crack placements; lastly satin finish 15mm web
is boldly colored to help ID each size. Big
size bonus: #4, #5, and #6 sport simple stainless
wire clips (like the wire gate on a carabiner)
that engage with slots on the frame and hold
each cam fully retracted. Thus a #4 (4.5"
at full expansion) becomes a compact 2.75"
cam on your rack (about the size of a expanded
#2)! When you're ready to plug in, pull the
trigger back automatically releasing the "parking
brakes" which spring out of the way. Very
cool & reason enough to start climbing off-widths!
