The MAKALU is a heavy duty lightweight
mountaineering boot that will take you anywhere
you want to roam. Traditional one piece
3mm silicon impregnated rough out leather
construction is highly weather resistant,
breathable and is molded to rugged La Sportiva
MPE Sole. Fine tuning for fit and boot volume
is a breeze with adjustment for volume via
EZ Flex Toungue and foot retention by Easy
Roller lacing system and EZ Lock D Rings
- to hold your foot comfortably and securely.
Trail and cramponing comfort is provided
by a breathable Dri-Lex lining, SBR Aircushion
midsole and 8 mm Mountain Flex Midsole with
full 1.5 mm steel shank. The "one boot"
you can use for serious backpacking, glacier
travel and some alpine ice. Favorite of
NOLS and Outward Bound Instructors as well
as utility company employees and smoke jumpers...
