drops or encountering snow and ice, the ALPINE

ropes get heavy, loose strength and are a bear
to handle. DRY models help keep water out plus
Mammut greatly exceeds the UIAA Dry Standard of
<5% water absorption weight relative to the
rope's total weight.. Multi-pitch, wall and ice

to insurse supple handling, easy clipping,
friction free running and less absorption of dirt.
Standard too is an extra 3% of length (to overcome
any shrinkage or stretch due to heat and humidity
